BFA Graphic Design

I decided to step out of my comfort zone and do something a little different than what is typically seen in my work. I wanted to do something that is seen as modern and cutting edge. This project challenges me by triggering creative skills beyond visual arts and tuning in with my branding capabilities. I decided to do coffee branding because I believe coffee is widespread and essential in modern day society. I chose this popular subject and branded it in the most unique way I could in order to compete with something that is already very popular.

 

In order to maintain distinction, I decided to add humor and quirkiness to my cutting edge brand, naming it “Brewed Awakening”. I designed the custom type face used in the logo and throughout the design. I also designed the logo, menu, and packaging for the brand identity. I also designed Other marketing elements that promote the brand include stickers, a chalkboard menu, and creating the café atmosphere throughout my installation to portray my vision. I went for a bold type-heavy design, with minimal emphasis on illustration, because the design focuses on the interaction of typography and color.

 

My goal is to depict the idea of waking up in the morning and sometimes needing that rude awakening to motivate you, to get out of bed and conquer the world. Sometimes we need that electric shock to get us through the day.
