Making and experiencing art is my way of searching for meaning. Limbo was created in response to my mental health during times of uncertainty. While being in limbo is distressful, it is an essential step toward personal growth. The symbolism and dreamlike elements within my work suggest deep reflection, as well as a sense of concealment or secrecy.
I find it interesting that the word emotion currently has no scientific consensus on a definition. People often distract themselves or find meaning of a feeling through art, music or story. It is easy to avoid uncomfortable topics but through artistic expression I can create a middle ground that is comfortable enough to confront these topics.
I consider myself a multimedia artist, although I especially appreciate the freedom and possibilities I can achieve in using technology to combine art forms. Communication, the human psyche, perception, uncertainty, and transitional states of mind are a few topics that motivate my practice.
